Furka Cogwheel Steam Railway Oberwald

Glaciers glow icy blue, wisps of delicate steam contrast with the deep blue of the sky. The locomotive snorts and puffs rhythmically up to the Steinstafel Bridge while the
lovely sound of the bells of the grazing cattle is carried on the crisp air from the pastures below. Station Furka (2,160 m), the highest point of the track, is situated at the mouth of the Furka-Muttbach tunnel between the cantons Uri and Valais.
