From Hollywood to China, customers scramble for the exquisite coffee machines from Niderbuchsiten in the canton of Solothurn. Only in France Jura has not managed to make headway with its existing sales partner. That is likely to change now, according to Philippe Imhof, Head of Operations & Services for Jura. He said in 2005: «With Olivier Langlois, our new sales partner, we will be able to actively work the market.» The agreements have been signed, and the long-established coffee trading company will build a new division in order to whet France’s appetite for Jura products.
While looking for a suitable sales partner, Philippe Imhof in September 2005 decided to draw on the experience of Osec and Swiss Business Hubs (SBH) in Paris, who first designed a market survey: «The business databases available at SBH were very helpful for the search», explains Imhof. 12 companies were finally shortlisted, adds Patrice Jacquier from SBH. They were then put through their paces by JURA and Jacquier until the end of 2005. The original mandate was to identify partners for the office & gastronomy market.
The objective has been more than met: With Olivier Langlois, end users in France will be able to enjoy coffee from Swiss-made machines.
